Root canal treatment is a common dental procedure used to save a tooth that has become infected or severely damaged. At HAWTHORNE FAMILY DENTAL CARE, we provide gentle, effective root canal care to relieve discomfort, protect your oral health and help preserve your natural tooth.
Inside each tooth is a soft area called the pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels. If decay, cracks, trauma, or repeated dental procedures allow bacteria to reach the pulp, the tooth may become inflamed or infected. symptoms may include persistent tooth pain, sensitivity to hot or cold, pain when biting, swelling, or tenderness around the tooth. In some cases, an infected tooth may not cause noticeable symptoms.
During a root canal, the affected pulp is carefully removed, and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and disinfected. The space is then filled and sealed to help prevent reinfection. Afterwards, the tooth may need a dental crown or another restoration to restore its strength, function, and appearance
Root canal treatment can often relieve pain and prevent the need for extraction.. Saving your natural tooth also helps maintain proper chewing function and prevents neighboring teeth from shifting out of position. Our team will explain each step of the procedure, answer your questions, and help ensure your comfort throughout treatment.
If your are experiencing tooth pain, swelling, or prolonged sensitivity, contact HAWTHORNE FAMILY DENTAL CARE to schedule an evaluation. Early treatment can help protect your tooth and support your long-term oral health
